Products Overview
Virtual Extension designs, develops and sells wireless sensor network units: nodes (end units) and gateways, based on its Diversity Path Mesh technology and operating in the unlicensed frequency ranges. The
IP-based system products have been developed and perfected over the last years, with tens of thousands of
units already deployed on three continents.
Virtual Extension technology has been designed to have the longest known range in class.
Furthermore, Virtual Extension solution supports thousands of nodes per gateway, allowing for practically unlimited network growth. Nodes can be easily installed by untrained staff.
VEmesh is Virtual Extension family of products, targeted to smart meter and sensor manufacturers vendors, who integrate
them into their product, without the need for management or any other type of software.
IP-based, the system enables easy connectivity of the wireless sensor
network to the back office management center.
VEmesh family includes two types of products
- Modules: standard or customized for OEM, as exemplified below
- IC's -
Mesh Controller and Single-chip
The pictures below exemplify the integration between a regular customer electricity meter and between
a VEmesh customized module, resulting in a high performance wireless Smart Meter, ready for AMR. A similar
meter was utilized in IEC project, described on the Smart Metering page.
